We cannot wait for you to meet our wonderfully diverse group of teachers that help make Tara Yoga so very unique.  Within each teacher lies a wonderful story, a passion for teaching, and a drive for serving our community.  All of our yoga instructors have gone through extensive training, as well as one-on-one mentoring with Tara for completion of the Tara Yoga 200 hour training. Our yoga instructors are certified, and in compliance with the National Yoga Alliance standards. Other instructors are also certified in their specialty area of meditation and/or fitness. Your first class with us is FREE, but we encourage you to try out a number of different of instructors, and discover the ones that inspire you the most!


Tara Blumenthal
Owner, Lead Trainer, Boss Lady at Tara Yoga

Hometown: Pearl, MS
Years practicing yoga and meditation: 14 +

  • Accomplishments: Opened Tara Yoga and Founded Tara Yoga School RYS 200
  • Community: Center for Violence Prevention, McClean Fletcher Center, Stewpot, Animal Rescue Fund of MS
  • She loves her family- infinitely!
  • She also enjoys hula hooping, and cycling.
  • A few of her favorite drummers: Vinnie Colaiuta, Manu Katche, Stanton Moore

LKF: She was in a band with her husband. She also had a brief appearance in the movie Get On Up, and in the Maroon 5 video, Daylight.


Dave Blumenthal

Hometown: Jackson, MS

  • Dave loves spending time with family, cycling, and teaching core classes at Tara Yoga.

  • Dave’s favorite band of all time is the Grateful Dead.

LKF: Dave plays the bass, guitar, and was in a band with his wife called The Curves. He also made a brief appearance in the movie Get On Up.


Melanie Vail Fuller

Hometown: Jackson, MS
Years practicing yoga: 11 +



  • Bachelor’s in Biological Sciences from the University of Southern MS.
  • RYT 200 since 2015, Tara Yoga School 200 Hour Teacher Training
  • When she’s not teaching yoga, Melanie works in quality and performance improvement.
  • Melanie loves her husband, a good book, and yoga.
  • She also loves watching soccer and MMA.

LKF: Melanie has 5 rules she lives by every day- if you’re lucky she’ll tell you what they are! She also appreciates a good trashy romance novel.


Jessica Roberts

Hometown: Madison, MS

Ann O’Connell

Hometown: Jackson, MS

  • Attended Southern Methodist University from 2009-2012 before transferring to Millsaps College and receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2014.

  • Babysitter, model, yoga teacher… depends on what day it is!

LKF: Ann is THE trivia queen for Charlie’s Angels, the original series! She was also an extra in Underground.


Clay Richmond

Hometown: Boca Raton, Florida

  • Studied Theatre and Information Technology
  • Community: Teach meditation at Central Mississippi Correctional Facility and Blue Cross/Blue Shield
  • Tara Yoga School 200 Hour Teacher Training, completed 2016
  • He enjoys the “active” retired life- surfing, stand up paddleboarding, playing guitar, and yoga.
  • Clay takes his Tara Yoga teaching and meditation skills to Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Angel Rohnke

Hometown: Clyde, New York
Years practicing yoga: 14 +

  • Community: McClean Fletcher Center
  • In her day job she is the Assistant Director of the Mississippi Department of Wildlife Fisheries Parks Museum of Natural Science.
  • Angel loves her husband, her new baby boy, traveling, yoga, and everything outdoors.
  • Angel takes her Tara Yoga teaching skills to the Baptist Healthplex in Clinton, as well as the Clinton Community Nature Center.

Nicole Stowe

  • BFA in Graphic Design and Photography from Delta State University
  • Nicole is the Creative Director at The Ramey Agency
  • Nicole is an art maker, meditator, science nerd, and vintage camera collector.
  • As our resident meditation instructor, she offers a delightful perspective on everyday life. 
  • She loves philosophy, contemplating and meditating!

LKF: Nicole won the Creativity Award in the 2010 Jello Mold Competition in NYC! She also made a brief appearance in a Bobby Brown music video.


Katie Taylor, MD

Hometown: Jackson, MS
