What clients have to say about her work

"Tara is a tremendous teacher. Her enthusiasm and joyfulness is infectious. She encourages you to push yourself beyond your comfort zone, yet is mindful of your limitations. I come away from her class a better person, both physically and mentally."

Dee

Hometown: Jackson, MS

A number of injuries as well as wear and tear on her body limited this Jackson native in the type and amount of physical activity and exercise she could participate in safely. Degenerative disc disease, scoliosis,  and an anterior disc herniation in the cervical spine were just a few of Dee's challenges. Dee was doing well with physical therapy, but she wanted more. Remembering  her love for yoga, De approached her physical therapist about getting back into yoga.

Dedicated to total healing and to emotional well-being, Dee and I started working together twice a week in August of 2006.  In just a short period of time, she found that the everyday activities that once caused her pain and frustration were no longer an issue anymore.  She even found previously challenging yoga poses accessible and enjoyable.

"An amazing amount of dedication (bhakti) as well as a positive attitude and strong will (iccha) from the student are equally important in a student's healing and progress. Dee was a pleasure to work with 24/7... a true gem!"

Age: 34

Hometown: St. John's Newfoundland

Chris is a professional hockey player whose game gets better with age! He has been playing hockey since he was 16, and has been playing in the European League the past 6 years. An incredibly driven and dedicated athlete, this defensive player does not take off season training lightly. We worked together targeting specific  areas of the body (hip-flexors, hamstrings, quadriceps, and IT band) for greater range of motion, flexibility, and speed.

In addition, he couples Eastern and Western medicine to address aches and pains in the body. Chris has used yoga, massage, and acupuncture as a means of modality and healing.

"Tara is unbelievable at her craft!  She introduced me to yoga and I found that it benefited me greatly in my profession.  Yoga increased my flexibility, my power and my speed, but also reduced my chance of sustaining injuries.  I would recommend yoga to everyone, no matter their goal."

Sam

Sam

Age: 22

Hometown: Jackson, MS

I met Sam through his father, who was also a former yoga student. This bright, vibrant college student in Athens, GA was on his way to a group bike ride when he was struck by a car suffering multiple life-threatening injuries.  Sam wasn't expected to live, much less walk or talk, or have the quality of life that he has now. "You're a true miracle...", if he's heard it once, he's heard it a million times. Yoga was a part of his life pre-accident, and he longed for it to be a part of his life post-accident. Our work together consists of breath work, meditation, and modifications of traditional yoga poses. Keeping in mind that the pose itself wasn't important, but the actual connection you make to your body, mind, and heart.

"I embrace my new yoga practice wholeheartedly, because, along with enhancing my physical recovery, I know that yoga brings with it an ultimate peace. "
